The 37th annual Hal Jackson's Talented Teens International Scholarship Program took place July 21 - 29, 2007 in New York City. The week of activities included an official welcome to New York City by Deputy Mayor Dennis Walcott, luncheons at Puff Daddy’s restaurant called Justin’s, Ashford & Simpson’s Sugar Bar and Miss Maude’s Spoonbread’s in Manhattan. The HJTTI Directors and Talented Teens took a double-decker bus tour of the city that never sleeps. The young ladies toured 1190 WLIB AM and 107.5 WBLS, the radio stations owned by Hal Jackson, Group Chairman of ICBC Broadcast Holdings, Inc., founder and CEO of HJTTI.
Everyone had an elegant dinner at Tavern on the Green in Central Park where they attended the 7th annual Shooting Star Awards Dinner. Awards were presented to Ruben Rodriguez and Delise Jones - individuals who have contributed their services to the Youth Development Foundation, Inc. The young ladies attended seminars and workshops which helped them to present themselves on stage and assisted in boosting their self-esteem. All of this led up to the International Finals that took place at Aaron Davis Hall where scholarships were awarded to the most talented teens in the world.
We wish to thank the HJTTI Directors who brought outstanding talent to the 2007 production and our corporate sponsors – ICBC Broadcast Holdings, Inc., WBLS, WLIB, American Airlines, Ramapo College of New Jersey, the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board, the Antigua Tourist Board, Apel International Travel, Dr. Edna Hill-Sallah, Ruben Rodriguez Entertainment, CHIPS, the Hollis Group, LLC, Fashion Fair Cosmetics, Luster Products, Razac, the Amsterdam News, Horizon Staffing, Betty Crawford Heller, our judges and all of the HJTTI staff.
